BlackBerry < OS7 Security IMEI

Được đăng bởi Unknown vào lúc 1:02 PM 0 nhận xét
What so called with "RED BLINK" EFS damaged.
This caused by messed up Radio Calibration data. Simply erase this field, and viola!!,
phone is alive with DEFAULT parameter. (IMEI 044xx..)

Now, how to get Radio parameter?
You need to have "clone QCEFS" for specific phone. You can get it from a good working phone. It's Qualcomm, google your self about how to read EFS. It's spread a lot.

Write this clone data to your erased phone , and that's it! Phone is alive.
BIS running OK, Telephony functions OK. Only one thing: the IMEI is default.

This is a warning to those who have such solution.

Do you KNOW how does BlackBerry security mechanism works?

On normal way:
it uses MODEM IMEI to register to network. It's OK you can use default IMEI,
since OUR country DID NOT apply any imei restriction. But don't know next year?
Apply IMEI policy, and this phone is DONE

Battery Life Tips & Tricks

Được đăng bởi Unknown vào lúc 9:22 AM 0 nhận xét

Battery Care & Feeding

  • A new battery should be charged fully, then depleted to red-line. Repeat for 2-3 cycles to condition the battery.
  • Charge the phone nightly. Frequent top-offs are better for a LiIon battery than deep discharges. Consider a charging pod.
  • Set the clock option for When Charging: Enter Bedside Mode. This dims the outer screen and turns off LED notifications.
  • Once in a great while, red-line the battery. This recalibrates the battery meter.
  • The Options screen has a more accurate reading than the battery meter. Settings->Options->Status.

Hardware Tips
  • Turn off the Wi-Fi (8220) and/or Bluetooth radios when you aren't using them. Go to Manage Connections.
[Edit 2011.04.20: Use SmartWiFi to automatically turn Wi-Fi on/off based on cell tower.]
  • Turn off the GPS (8230) radio when you aren't using it. Settings->Options->Advanced Options->GPS->GPS Services: Location OFF.
  • Use a BlackBerry-branded Flip holster, which has a magnet to trip the in-holster sensor and put the phone in standby mode.
  • Use a USB cable for modem tethering instead of a Bluetooth connection. Bluetooth tethering uses a lot of power.

Configuration Tips
  • Use UMA (8220) in weak signal areas if possible. Maintaining cell service in a dead zone obviously draws a lot of power.
  • Turn off network coverage indicator (green LED). Settings->Options->Screen/Keyboard->LED Coverage Indicator.
  • Turn off Bluetooth connection indicator (blue LED). Settings->Options->Bluetooth, click Menu key, choose Options->LED Connection Indicator.
  • Set screen brightness as low as tolerable. Settings->Options->Screen/Keyboard->Backlight Brightness.
  • Set backlight timeout as low as tolerable. Settings->Options->Screen/Keyboard->Backlight Timeout.
  • Set backlight auto-dim to On. Settings->Options->Screen/Keyboard->Automatically Dim Backlight.
  • Set profiles to use Tone instead of Vibrate or Vibrate+Tone.

Application Tips
  • Update your BlackBerry to the latest firmware. Newer firmware often incorporates battery-saving tweaks.
  • Always exit applications using Menu->Exit or Menu->Close. Forgotten applications running in the background will leech your battery. While holding down the Alt key, press Escape then scroll left/right to see the running applications.
  • BerryWeather: set updates as infrequent as tolerable. Menu->Settings, "Auto Update" and "Advisory Auto Update".
  • E*Trade Mobile Pro: disable streaming quotes
  • Slacker: cache stations on your microSD card instead of streaming them OTA.
  • WeatherBug: set updates as infrequent as tolerable. Settings->Options->WeatherBug Settings, Menu->Advanced Settings

Z10 Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts

Được đăng bởi Unknown vào lúc 9:19 AM 0 nhận xét
Tips using the Z10 BlackBerry.

  • For the new Z10 user, you'll find some good stuff here and I urge you to just sit down for 20 miutes and go through each of these. They'll stick with you that way.
  • For the experienced user, please feel free to post your own tips in this thread! I'd ask that we stay on topic, and let's get as many as possible posted here.
 Settings
  1. First, find your SETTINGS easily by swiping down from the top bezel. There you will see Settings, Bluetooth, Alarm, Rotation Lock, WiFi and Notifications. In your Settings, you will find your About screen, Network Connections such as your mobile network, Mobile Hotspot, NFC, Airplane Mode, etc.; your email accounts setup, Language and Input, BlackBerry Protect, and many other key settings.
  2. Name your Z10 at Settings > About > Device Name. This is the name of the device a WiFi router will see, when using the BlackBerry Link on your desktop, or when sharing media files.
  3. Remember the Overflow icon, which is noted by the ⁞ icon (three horizontal dots) This icon is often seen in the Hub, at the bottom of email compose screens and in many core BB10 apps and will lead you to more settings, options or actions for that screen.
  4. Take a screen shot of your Z10 screen by pressing both the UP and DOWN volumes keys simultaneously. The screen shot is saved in your Pictures folder.
  5. Stop the red LED quickly by tapping the top edge Standby button. Sometimes I don't have time to even peek at the Hub, and a quick tap of the standby button let's me get back to work for a few more minutes.
  6. Hub Quick Controls: While in your Hub view, tap the overflow icon ⁞ and then Settings > to find your settings for Hub Display and Actions (change the sort order of messages, download images automatically and more), Hub Management (you can enable and disable which email accounts, Facebook, and Twitter to appear or no in the Hub.
  7. Application settings can often be found by swiping down from the top bezel to find more Settings, Help, or About that third party application.
  8. Disable the Delete Message Confirmation from your Hub screen > tap the overflow icon ⁞ > Settings > Display and Actions > scroll down to and disable the Delete Message Confirmation.
  9. Peek when busy! If your actively in an email or other app like Twitter, you can use one finger swiping slowly up from the bottom bezel to view any mail, BBM or Hub notifications on the left or right of the pane. Keep your finger on the app and swipe back down to continue in the active app, or let go to move to another app. Swiping up from the bottom and over to the right all in one action hides that active app and takes you directly to your Hub.
  10. Check your battery percentage at Settings > About > change the top Category from General to Hardware and the battery percentage is at the bottom of the screen. I've downloaded "Battery Watch" from BlackBerry World for free, as an icon on my screen.
  11. Speed Dial settings are found by opening your Phone application and while in the Call List or Contacts view, touch and hold the desire contact to add to your Speed Dial and on the popup side bar, touch the Star icon (Add to Speed Dial).
Typing/Keyboard
  1. Word Substitution on your Z10 works beautifully! Find it in your Settings > Language and Input > Automated Assistance > Word Substitution. We formerly called this AutoText, and it works all the same as before. There are a few pre-loaded, and I make my own, for things such as creating an entry of "hh" which becomes "Headed Home" I often use to let family know I've left the office at the end of the day. You can create Twitter hashtags, such as "bbt" becomes "#BlackBerry10", "myadd" instantly enters my physical office address. Learn to use the pre-loaded entries such as "ld" for today's date, "lt" for the current time, "mypin" to enter your Z10 PIN, or "myver" to instantly enter your BlackBerry model and OS version installed.
  2. Hide the keyboard on any screen by wiping down with two fingers on the keyboard. Now you can see more of the long BBMessenger chat.
  3. Format your Email to add colored fonts, Bold, bullets, or numbering... While in the email compose screen, swipe two fingers down to hide the keyboard and you'll see the Attach, Format, Importance and the overflow [⁞] icon... which allows you do BCC: a contact in the email.
  4. Minize the keyboard quickly by touching the space key for two seconds, or by using two fingers to swipe downward on the keyboard.
  5. Switch Keyboards quickly between the QWERTY keyboard and the numeric/symbol keyboard by swiping down on the keyboard with one finger.
  6. Delete whole words by swiping left across the keyboard. Delete two words by swiping leftward with two fingers, three words with three fingers.
  7. Select a word by touching and holding the word, the blue selection box will surround the word. Hold that word a second longer and the entire sentence will be selected. Another second, the entire paragraph will select; a second longer and the next paragraph will select with it, and so on.
Media
  1. Use the Camera on the Lock Screen by touching the camera icon for five seconds... instant camera for the quick shots without unlocking!
  2. Camera Tips: Use the up or down volume to activate the shutter, or simply touch the screen. Touch the Overflow icon for the camera's Burst mode (touch and hold for sports shots!) or to change the front-facing camera, or the Stabilization mode for shaky hands. The up/down volume keys also stop and start the video camera.
  3. Set your Music Controls to your volume keys by going to your Settings > System Volume > to set the Music Shortcuts to On. Now your device volume up/down keys can be pressed to take you to the next or previous track in your music library.
Calendar
  1. Switch calendar views quickly between the single day view to the week view, tap the screen twice quickly
  2. A six month calendar is viewable, from the month view, by dragging down from top blue month title. From there you can swipe left or right to the previous or future six months, and touch a month to view that month.
Miscellaneous
  1. Customize your icon layout by touching and holding an icon for two seconds until they pulsate... Touch and drag an icon within the current screen and let go to place it; drag an icon across the edge right or left to another panel, or drag one icon onto another to create a new folder with both icons located in that folder (you'll have a New Folder box pop up where you can name the folder). Rename a folder by touching it a few seconds.
  2. Voice Control can quickly access from any screen by pressing the side MUTE key for two seconds (this is the button between the up and down volume keys).
  3. Just Type! I am amazed at the ease of typing and self-correction of my typing mistakes on the Z10. I just seem to enter gibberish and the Z10 makes sense of it all in 99% of the words. Take time the first two weeks to use the word flick as you type and the Z10 will learn even better your typing and writing habits.
  4. Just Speak! I have never been a big user of my former BlackBerry voice to text apps or services. They just never worked right for me. But WOW, this Z10 is actually getting better and better each time I use the Voice Control. Just like typing, it's learning my speech pattern, southern accent and idiosyncrasies. Take some time aside to create SMS messages or emails with the Voice Control and then as you do, make the corrections needed. Doing so will make a world of difference in how Voice Control reacts and transcribes your voice input.
  5. Reset the BlackBerry10 Hub by swiping from the top right bezel to the center of the screen, five times in a row. This will often reset any ghost notifications, your email or social media notifications. You'll see a quick black screen then "Preparing BlackBerry Hub".
Got your own tip? Post it in this thread. If you're copying from another blog or source, be sure to give credit where due, with a link.

Other great Z10 and BlackBerry10 resources can found at the BlackBerry HelpBlog, The BlackBerry YouTube Channel, the BlackBerry Twitter Support, and at Getting Started with the Z10.

Jvm error code & Blinking Led code on the BlackBerry

Được đăng bởi Unknown vào lúc 9:28 AM 0 nhận xét
Description
The following table lists errors that can occur in the Java virtual machine (JVM) on BlackBerry devices. Contact Research In Motion® (RIM®) if you encounter any error codes not listed in this table.

Value Error Description

101Previous startup failed
The device was reset during the JVM boot process. The JVM found the boot in progress flag was set on startup. The screen is intended to break continuous reset loops so that corrective action can be taken.

102Invalid code in filesystem
The system checked the COD files in the device for modification and determined that a problem exists with one or more COD files.

If all loads fail, a build process error might occur (a problem exists with signing the COD files).

If a user action on the device resulted in this problem, the reset cycle is continuous because the code in the filesystem has been corrupted. The only recovery method is to wipe the device and restore a new system.

103 Cannot find starting address
The starting address for the boot COD file cannot be found. This might indicate that a boot COD file has not been installed on the device or that its format is invalid or corrupt.

104
Uncaught: <Java-type-name>

An uncaught Java exception was thrown by the Java code and diagnosed by the JVM. Execution can continue, or the device can be attached to a debugger on a desktop computer. The Microsoft® Windows® Event Viewer log should contain the traceback of the thrown exception.

105
Example, DbRecSize( %d ) -> %d

The file system application programming interface (API) has returned an error status for a specific operation. This might indicate a corrupt filesystem or an error in the JVM.

106
Graphics system error
An error was detected in the graphics system on the device.

107
operator new() called

A C++ class in the JVM was coded incorrectly to inherit from VMRamObject that has the correct override for operator new. Extract the current (post-reset) BUGDISP.

108
operator delete() called

A C++ class in the JVM has was coded incorrectly to inherit from VMRamObject that has the correct override for operator delete. Extract the current (post-reset) BUGDISP.

109
PriorityMessageCount error: <priority-count>

The value returned by RimPriorityMessageCount is negative. It should always be greater than, or equal to, zero. This indicates an error in the operating system code. Extract the current (post-reset) BUGDISP and EVENTLOG.

110
Non-idle event downtime error: <down-time> <idle-down-time>

A problem was detected in the accumulation of JVM down time, which represents how long the JVM has been idle. This usually indicates an error in the device firmware or the JVM. This could also occur if the tick count rolls over after 400 or more days of device time.

111
Font engine error

An error was detected in the font engine system on the device. Extract the current (post-reset) BUGDISP and EVENTLOG.

112
Java Native Assertion Failure

An error was detected in the Java native code. Extract the current (post-reset) BUGDISP and EVENTLOG.

200
Application manager threw an uncaught exception

The application manager event thread threw an uncaught exception and cannot continue execution.

201
Crypto initialization code failed

The initialization of the crypto system failed and the device cannot continue execution.

202
An attack on the key store has been detected

An attack has been detected and execution cannot continue.

203
Console process died

The application manager console process (usually the Ribbon) has died. This is likely due to an uncaught exception during execution.

204
Persistent Content Exception

An application tried to commit a plaintext object to the Persistent Store. This will only happen if Content Protection is on and a process tries to save something in the PersistentStore that is marked as plaintext. Since this exception was not handled, the persistent store is in a bad state. You should reset to roll back to the last good commit point.
Note: This is not a JVM erro; the JVM is simply diagnosing the problem. The eventlog contains information about the erroneous Java code.

501 VM_THREAD_SWITCHED:
Internal Error This is an error return used internally in the VM. It should never be reported as a device error.

502 VM_PROCESS_DEATH:
All processes exited The last Java process has terminated. There is nothing left to execute.

503 VM_THREAD_DEATH:
Internal Error This is an error return used internally in the VM. It should never be reported as a device error.

504 VM_THREAD_SWITCH:
Internal Error This is an error return used internally in the VM. It should never be reported as a device error.

505 VM_BAD_CODE:
Bad Byte Code An error has occurred in the JIT compiler.

506 Uncaught Exception
An uncaught Java exception was thrown in the initial VM Java thread, thus ending the only live thread in the system. The eventlog contains the traceback for the exception.

507 Unsatisfied Link
A dependency on a COD file could not be satisfied because the COD file is missing.

508 Invalid object
A problem has been detected with a debugger command to the VM.

509 VM_PPO_INFINITE_LOOP:
infinite loop in PPO phase of GC The maximum iteration count for the PPO phase of a GC must be the maximum number of file handles in the system. This error indicates that the iteration count exceeds the maximum. Hence, a flaw exists in the PPO loop or a corrupted file system. The extra hex integer in the error string is the flash id of the current record where the infinite loop was detected.

510 Deadlock
All threads are waiting on objects, resulting in deadlock. The system cannot recover from this state because no thread can release a lock.

511 Debug connection died
A problem has occurred while debugging that may be caused by a VM problem or an incorrect debugging command being sent to the VM.

512 GC Aborted
An idle garbage collection has been interrupted by a user event (for instance, a key was pressed or the trackwheel was used).

513 <clinit> needs running
An opcode requires that a class <clinit> execute before it can continue execution.

514 <init> needs running
A new instance of a class has been allocated and it must be initialized by the default constructor before it can be used.

515 Object group too big
The reachable objects form a group that cannot be represented properly by the JVM because either there are too many objects or the total size of the objects is too large.

516 Persistent ids exhausted
When committing a persistent object, the JVM found that the persistent store id counter reached its limit. The object was not committed and a critical error was reported. This error should not occur unless a device is heavily used for years.

517 Filesystem corrupt
An inconsistency was detected in the JVM persistent object store.

518 Unexpected longjmp

A garbage collection marking phase was terminated via a longjmp. This indicates that the marking phase was interrupted when it should have completed without interruption. This error should not occur because these actions are executed when the device is not idle, and GCs can only be interrupted when the device is idle.

519 Internal Error
The JVM host is missing or has been disabled.

520 Internal Return
This is an internal state that indicates a Java method return needs to be executed.

521 Dangerous Wait
An Object.wait() was executed by a thread that holds a lock on another object.

522 Interlaced synchronization
A thread acquired two locks on objects in an order that doesn't match the order in which a lock on the two types were previously acquired. This indicates a future potential deadlock situation and is reported. The check is only available in the simulator under the control of the JvmDebugLocks application switch.

523 System process died

A critical Java process has terminated, and the device cannot continue to operate in a normal manner.

524 LMM error
An object has been marked as recovered by the Low Memory Manager, but it was not freed during a garbage collection.

525 Bad persistent object
An auto-commit operation during a garbage collection detected a non-persistent object reachable from the persistent store root. The type of the object was output into the eventlog.

526 java.lang.Object not found
The class definition for java.lang.Object cannot be found.

527 java.lang.String not found
The class definition for java.lang.String cannot be found.

528 Corrupt filesystem.
Unrecoverable. All data will be lost All data will be lost when execution continues. The error message screen contains a number representing an internal reason for the corruption. This error is not diagnosed if a COD file was removed because the JVM must delete objects that were defined in the removed COD file. Thus, this error is not expected in normal device operation. Refer to the following reason codes:
Root array reference is not a valid array reference
Root array type is not Object[]
Root array size < 1 (i.e., Object[0])
Contents of root[0] is not a valid ref
Type of root[0] is not a LongIntHashtable
Persistent segmented array header contains an invalid reference
An entry in a persistent Object[] contains an invalid reference
An Object's type refers to an unknown codfile
An Object's type description in the codfile doesn't match the size in the store
A reference type field in an Object has an invalid reference in it
A reference type field in an object points to an object of the wrong type
A persistent Object[] is missing its descriptor
Object in persistent store is not marked as persistable
Root array is segmented and one of the segments is invalid

529 Corrupt filesystem.
About to attempt recovery. Some data may be lost Some data will be lost when execution continues. The error message screen contains a number representing an internal reason for the corruption. This error is not diagnosed if a COD file WAS removed because the VM must delete objects that were defined in the removed COD file.

530 VM_PREVENT_GC_OVERFLOW: _preventGC overflow
A fixed number of native objects can be protected from garbage collection. This error indicates that a native has exceeded the fixed limit of objects that can be protected. If the device is reset or thread tracebacks are logged, the name of the actual native can be extracted.

531 Flash exhausted
There are certain operations where the JVM cannot withstand running out of flash space. In these circumstances, this error will be reported if the JVM cannot allocate a required amount of flash space.

532 VM_ASSERTION_FAILED:
Assertion failed Normally this JVM error should not be reported since the device is not shipped with assertions enabled. The simulator may report this error in debug mode indicating a VM assertion was violated. Try typing BKPT to activate the debugger and dump the native call stack for forwarding to the VM team.

533 VM_RUN_METHOD: <method> needs running
This is used internally for ECMAScript to call Java methods.

534 VM_FAST_RESET_DISABLED:
Fast Reset Disabled This is used internally to indicate that fast reset capability is not available. Often used in platform-specific code.

535 VM_UNUSED_535:
Unused This is an unused VM error.

536 VM_FAST_RESET_BAD_INSTANCE: VM Instance Check Failed
This is used internally to indicate that the VM structure passed in is at the wrong address or has been corrupted.

537 VM_FAST_RESET_BAD_HEAP: Heap Check Failed
This is used internally to indicate that the VM heap has been corrupted or pointers into the heap have been corrupted.

538 VM_FAST_RESET_BAD_IRAM: IRAM Check Failed
This is used internally to indicate that the VM IRAM checks have detected corruption of VM data structures (threads and local stacks) that reside in IRAM.

539 VM_FAST_RESET_NOT_IDLE: Not Idle
This is used internally to indicate that the VM was not idle when the reset occurred and, as such, cannot continue with a fast reset.

540 VM_FAST_RESET_MULTIPLE_RESETS: Multiple Resets
This is used internally to indicate that the time since the last fast reset is less than a minimum time. By disallowing multiple fast resets in a short amount of time, this should prevent fast reset loops.

541 VM_HEAP_COMPACT_INFINITE_LOOP: infinite loop detected in heap compaction
The VM detected a problem in its RAM heap that indicates its RAM was corrupted. The problem was detected by identifying a possible infinite loop during RAM heap compaction. A bugdisp log and eventlog should be extracted quickly when the device is in this condition. If possible, images of RAM should be saved.

542 Transient memory leak
The JVM detected that some memory was not freed, indicating that a memory leak has occurred. This condition is detected as early as possible to improve chances of isolating the cause.

543 VM_FS_MISMATCH: Incompatible Java filesystem installed
The VM detected that the operating system binary is different from the operating system binary used to create the Java file system. This means that the Java native methods may not be linked properly and as such, the integrity of the system cannot be guaranteed. The system can be recovered by using the VM DLFX and DLPS commands to delete the fixups and persistent store. This will clear all data and fixups and let the filesystem re-link to match the new operating system binary.
Note: The recovery order is:

Delete fixups
Delete persistent store
Reset device

544 VM_SECTION_MAP_OVERFLOW: a module references more than 255 other modules
The VM detected that a module is trying to reference more than 255 other modules. Extract the filesystem immediately when this error is
detected.

545 VM_INCOMPATIBLE_FILESYS: an incompatible or corrupt filesystem was found
The VM detected an incompatible or corrupt filesystem. Extract the filesystem immediately when this error is detected.

546 VM_UNUSED_546: unused
The VM detected that the RAM image of its filesystem is corrupted (failed CRC check). Better to reset than to duplicate the corruption into flash.

547 VM_UNUSED_547: unused
This is an unused VM error.

548 VM_UNUSED_548: unused
This is an unused VM error.

549 VM_UNUSED_549: unused
This is an unused VM error.

Được đăng bởi Unknown vào lúc 10:18 AM 0 nhận xét
Problem

BlackBerry 10 smartphone does not load, immediately after powering on a logo is displayed on the screen indicating that the device should be connected to a computer with a USB cable.

Resolution
To recover the BlackBerry 10 smartphone complete the following steps. NOTE - this procedure is only available on a Windows PC.

  1. Shutdown BlackBerry Link (and BlackBerry Desktop Software if installed).
  2. Detach all BlackBerry smartphones, including the BlackBerry 10 smartphone that cannot be booted up.
  3. Using Internet Explorer navigate to BlackBerry Software Updates, scroll down the page and select the Check for Updates button.
  4. Connect the BlackBerry 10 smartphone that cannot be booted up.
  5. Hold the power button for 10 seconds until it turns off, then press the power button again so it turns on. A prompt will appear and the BlackBerry smartphone will show in the drop down list shortly after the LED lights up as red (it could show up as USB: UNKNOWN or USB: BlackBerry (PIN) – both are normal/fine). Click the OK Button as soon as it becomes enabled. NOTE: there is only 15 seconds to do this. Note: Once the above steps are completed successfully a dialog will be displayed stating Checking for BlackBerry Device Software updates.
The BlackBerry 10 smartphone will now power itself off after 120 seconds. Shortly after the 120 seconds, the BlackBerry smartphone LED should turn green. Continue to wait after the LED turns green and you will be prompted to install BlackBerry Device Software. Follow the prompts to install the BlackBerry Software and once the installation is complete the smartphone will boot up and is now recovered.
i think this useful for blackberry technicians,

How to perform a security wipe of a Smartphone BlackBerry Z10

Được đăng bởi Unknown vào lúc 8:05 AM 0 nhận xét
Some useful information every BlackBerry smartphone owner should know how is how to perform a security wipe. This process is designed to permanently delete your personal data so it can’t be recovered from the smartphone. With that being said, here a few important things you should know when performing a security wipe followed by instructions on how to perform a security wipe on a BlackBerry Z10 smartphone.
  • If you are using an encrypted microSD card, you will need to turn off media card encryption before starting the security wipe, otherwise you will not be able to access files stored on your microSD card. To review your encryption settings, while viewing the Home screen, tap Settings followed by Security and Privacy. Within this menu, set the Media Card Encryption switch to Off and wait for the decryption process to finish before initiating a security wipe.
  • A security wipe can take up to 15 minutes or longer, and it’s important that the security wipe operation is left to complete on its own. In other words, after starting a security wipe, do not remove the battery or attempt to restart the smartphone, otherwise you may run into unexpected issues. If the security wipe operation was interrupted and the smartphone is encountering issues, please review the section below titled ‘Help! I performed a security wipe and now my smartphone won’t turn on!’
  • A security wipe will erase all data and any downloaded apps, games and multimedia content, such any photos taken from the smartphone (data saved to your microsd will not be removed). If you would like to save this information, consider backing up the smartphone using BlackBerry Link for Windows or Mac before proceeding further. For information on how to do this, review KB33526 that can be found in the BlackBerry Knowledge Base.
  • Apps and games purchased from BlackBerry World will need to be reinstalled after performing a security wipe. To do this, open BlackBerry World, tap All followed by My World. Tap My Apps & Games followed by Available and you will be able to re-install any purchased apps or games by opening the item and tapping Reinstall.
  • Settings and configuration settings will be reset to default after performing a security wipe, which means you will need to pair with Bluetooth devices again, for example.
  • Ensure that the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone is plugged into the power outlet to prevent power loss during the security wipe.

Now that you are familiar with the important facts about performing a security wipe, here’s how to perform a security wipe.
  1. While viewing the Home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap Settings
  2. Tap Security and Privacy followed by tapping Security Wipe
  3. Enter the word blackberry to confirm the security wipe process
  4. Tap Delete Data
  5. The security wipe process can take up to 15 minutes to complete, do not attempt to restart the BlackBerry 10 smartphone or pull the battery until the BlackBerry 10 has completed the Security Wipe.
When the security wipe has been completed, the initial setup process will need to be completed before the BlackBerry 10 smartphone can be used.
Help! I performed a security wipe and now my smartphone won’t turn on!
